Pine Siskin

Pine siskin, March 18, 2011

Pine siskins are small finches that often travel with their cousins, the American goldfinches.  This particular finch must have hit the window glass as it sat stunned on the feeder and lacked the normal “zippy” behavior of a finch.  This is the first time we have noticed one at the feeder.
